Well, we have all completed our Freshman year. it was very busy, but also very fun. im going to wrap it up into this gigantic post. so if you dont have time or dont like reading long posts just stop here haha. i think you guys should like it though. Before i do the full typical day layout, ill give a few big events that happened in the year.
In August i started the world of high school soccer. it was pretty awesome. our first game was before school even started, which made it busy from the get go. after that was of course the beginning of our high school years. soccer ended about a month and half after that, and it was a great experience. i cant wait till our season starts back up here in a couple months. the next big event was probably the swing dancing show for half time that me, anna, heather, and corey danced for. that was a lot of fun. im hoping that we'll get to do it again next year. me and brad went to tahoe over thanksgiving break and got to do some snowboarding for the first time that season. that was a lot of fun as well. my cousin came in december and we had a great time hanging out, especially when i got my TRUCK for Christmas. itll be a month tomorrow when i can drive it with a license!! but anyway after that my dad left in january which really sucked. that was really hard for me since me and my dad are like best friends, so the four months of torture began. there were a few really cool things that took place in between that to take my mind off of it though. some of them included making the video for aerospace where we got to go flying with mike and jehd. the video turned out great after all of mine and michaels hard work. next came spring break. I GOT TO GO TO FLORIDA!! (sorry chris) that was a really awesome time. besides seeing all of my cousins, i got to see my friends kevin and jason who i hadnt seen since japan when they were my best friends. that was crazy fun. we hit it off again and almost got killed in a tornado haha. next was military ball. that was a lot of fun. a night ill always remember. i took Kristy Frank, and Michael took Brittany Carli. the four of us had a great time. my dad got back in early May which was awesome. i was so glad to have that manly presence aside from myself in the house. we surprised him at the airport with a whole bunch of people from the church. me and Renae started dating and shes been really great, ive enjoyed the time ive had with her, its too bad shes leaving soon. then there was finals, and now im here. so this school year was a ton of fun. a great way to start off High School. now ill give you a detailed run through in a typical day of the freshman year.
my alarm clock begins making me mad every morning at exactly 6:40 AM. i then proceed to try and find something to wear, switching my styles a couple times during the year. then i put my contacts in, brushed my teeth, and depending on what time i actually got up, did my hair. after that was making my lunch, then off to school at somewhere around 7:15. after arriving at school was going to the locker to unload everything then hanging out with brad and chris before first period.
after the bell rings, then it depends on which part of the year you were talking about that determines where i went. first semester i was in science first period with ms zendrosky. i sat at a table with nabeal, mark carino, and someone else but i cant remember who for some reason. during the second semester was geometry with mr. waldron. that was a really easy class in some ways cuz he never checks your homework, but the bad thing is that your grade entirely depends on tests and quizzes which sucks, but i got an A in his class so its all good. i sat right behind jessica with tara to my right and drew right in front of jessica. he would crack me up while me and jessica talked the whole period ignoring the lectures. matt gall was also in that class.
waldrons crazy tho. one time he raced grace down the hall during the period while all the other classes were still in session. crazy times.......
after the bell rang me and jessica would walk into the crank shanking zone (if you want to kno what that means jus ask me) and meet up with david sellona and they would walk wherever they were going. then it was off to PE. now THAT was some crazy times. i had a crapload of people that i knew in that period such as: nia, jennifer, mike hildebrand, scott, kyle, jason, jon downer just to name a few. me nia and jennifer hung out mostly cuz they were actually in my class. i would mess with nia a lot lol, and so would scott haha. she knows she liked it tho. that was definitely a fun class. guzman was our teacher as well as my soccer coach, but thats a whole nother story lol. anyway, through numerous stink bombs, getting mad at de ponte, and gay orienteering, made it through that class.
after we were all dressed and waiting for the bell to ring, well let me rephrase that. we were dreading the bell ringing cuz that meant we were off to band. so me, jason, nia, and jennifer would take the walk of shame to band. i am FREAKING glad that is over now. here comes the details. we would enter the band room from the right side so that we didnt have to say hi to tipton on our way in, then grab our folders, instruments, stands, and chairs. we did our independent warm up, followed by class starting and the quote known by everyone, "welcome back everyone" no doubt said by mr tipton. we would do some kind of annoying warm up followed by endless tuning. then mr. tipton would probably tell some corny joke or something. and the rehearsing begins. i didnt really mind the music that much, it was just class in general. there is something about mr tiptons teaching style that myself, jason, and other people cant stand. i think it was the way he would insult you by sarcastically saying it. i cant stand that, but he has perfected it so well that sometimes people dont pick it up and take it as a joke, but i got it every time and it would make me soo mad, but anyway. towards the end of class we would become self conscious of the time on the clock. band teachers have this sixth sense where they can detect when the bell will ring like 30 seconds before so that the last word comes out of their mouth that they intended to be and the bell will immediately ring, which makes me really mad as a brass player because then i have to do the stupid warm downs, pack up my instrument, put my folder away, put my instrument away, all when the bell has already rang. jus GREAT! psha!
anyway, then me and jason would meet everyone outside, talk for a sec, then off to english. English had to be one of the coolest classes. mr powell is an awesome teacher. he has the perfect amount of disciplinary action, but at the same time hes really cool. for a while i sat by jason, but then we ended up getting separated and he sat by KT. i was like off in the depths of the classroom. im sure jason probably felt out of place though, cuz all of us cept him are in JROTC so we would all be in uniform on monday and he'd look really out of place. but anyway, after many boring books such as the odyssey, romeo and juliet, and lord of the flies, the year was over. kind of sad to see that class go since teachers like powell are rare(his finals are also rare as they are extremely hard though). o and he likes strongbad which makes it better.
but anyway after english was the long awaited lunch. i would proceed to my locker, transfer the first half of days books and binders into my locker and replace it with the second half's and my lunch. lunchtime never really followed a definite routine. i was either eating in the bandroom with brad, or walking around outside with chris eating as we went. towards the end of the year i hung out with renae at the end of lunch. during the winter months most of the time was spent in the bandroom however.
after lunch was the golden bell award winning class of JROTC. that definitely had its moments as well. we would enter the classroom, chat a little bit until the bell rang. at the sound of the bell our flight seargent would be heard: "FLIGHT, ATTENTION" we then proceeded to snap to attention from parade rest while our flight commander Sierra would proceed to the front of the classroom for flight roll: "REPORT" "Element 1: All present and accounted for, MAAM" and so on through all four elements. Colonel Lakes would then ask the flight commander to report " SIR, Delta flight all present and accounted for, SIR" "Thank you, maam, Good afternoon echo, be seated" he always confused us for echo flight, i dont kno why, but he did. but anyway, rotc activities varied throughout the year. there was drill evals, Aerospace chapters, Flag detail, and other things depending on the time period during the year. after the bell rang, the flight seargent would once again be heard, "Flight, ATTENTION" hopefully followed soon by "DISMISSED" which meant we were finally out of there. not that it was that bad of a class, but we were jus glad to be over with it, kinda boring. it was a breeze tho. you could slack off in it all the time and still get an A. not that i did........ lol.
me and Alina would then walk to science while she split off and headed to geometry. during the first semester i was also heading to geometry with de bruler. that was a crazy boring class. me, phil, chris curtis, and bryan healy would be falling asleep in there in our little corner all the time. one time all four of us were asleep at the same time. its cuz he talks in this monotone voice, plus it was sixth period so it was kinda hard to stay awake anyway. that was sort of a hard class but i still got an A in it. during the second semester however was science with trefz. trefz needs to retire..... like NOW. man he is like the worst teacher for the freshman class at vanden. and everyone who has him would agree so. he has no patience whatsoever. so hes always threatening detention and stuff. made me so mad. but all of our table was in honor science so he let us slide a lot even though we were always talking. our table consisted of myself, anja, dannica, and ashley. we became known as zacks angels cuz apparently we had to have a name according to ashley. ashley ended up leaving us though cuz apparently she was mad at me and for some other reasons. i dont kno y she was mad. i guess it was cuz i was always messing with her, but she took me seriously too much. o well, her loss, cuz we had a lot of fun at that table. tim sat close to us and cracked us up like crazy. he definitely wasnt on trefz's good side lol. through clock watching, recieving threats, and hating trefz's accent ( i could tell some good storys reguarding that haha), we made it through the year. i got an A in that one too lord willing lol. finally the bell rang, we put up our chairs cept on fridays, then the day was over, well class anyway..
Afterschool activities occupied much of the day at times during the school year. during the first couple months of school, soccer season was going on which took up a good three hours after seventh period. i wouldnt end up getting home till about 6:00 so it was a full day. during game nights, we usually didnt get home till after ten, but thats whats so fun about school sports, getting out early from school, and not getting home till crazy late. during the last few months of the school year was golden west marching band where i was one of the instructors. that went till about 4:00. if nothing was going on after school, i would jus do my homework during seventh period and then head home.
so theres the year. hope you enjoyed this crazy long post. it was real. it was fun. it was REAL FUN!
