do i feel an end of the year post coming?? why yes i do! and its about time! NOW ANNOUNCING: THE CONCLUSION OF THE JUNIOR 06-07 SCHOOL YEAR!!

Anyway... so its been a fun year. and due to the fact that i horribly procrastinated last year until eternity became the due date, i guess ill give an end of the year post this year. so as tradition would have it, lets start with the main events.

The year kicked off pretty good with a hardcore season of Varsity Soccer. this was my second year on Varsity, but for some reason it seemed like a harder season than the previous year. i believe this was partly due to the fact that we moved up divisions, but the other part... im still not quite sure. anyway tho, it was a good season and our record wasnt too shabby. that went until the end of October as usual and im looking forward to the next season already, which should be starting up here in the next couple months. towards the end of soccer season, however, came a break where i would take a trip i will remember for the rest of my life. it was a trip so great that i would give just about anything to relive it just the way it happened. this was none other than the trip to Washington D.C., with a small visit to Brad in Virginia. the Virginia trip was fun as it gave me some time to spend with Brad and i met all his friends there. following this was the D.C. trip in which i attended the National Youth Leadership Forum on Defense, Intelligence, & Diplomacy (quite the title huh?) but all those words had a lot of meaning as we were heavily exposed to all that the program had to offer. and let me tell you it was the experience of a lifetime. i saw some of the coolest sites in D.C., met friends that i will have for life, and came out with some lessons and leadership skills i never could have received. lets just put it this way: i didnt want to come home. but i had to. and school blazed on. nothing very eventful happened until Christmas break when i decided to take a trip to Chicago and visit the people i had met in D.C. it was a very fun trip that we all needed so that we could get all the missing eachother out of our system. Spring break was pretty normal this year. not much happened, i just mostly chilled, went snowboarding a couple times and that was about it. and the last few months of school i was caught up with my instruction work at the middle school with the marching band down there so that took up a lot of my time. so while the last part of the school year wasnt very full of large events, classes picked up where that slack was. and it was intense, so heres the detailed run down of a normal day at Vanden High School Junior Year:

My alarm clock insisted on informing me that a school day must start around 6 in the morning. call me a girl, whatever, but i need that hour to get ready. so i'd hit the snooze usually about twice. then without failure it would go off again and the thought of "do i have any tests today or could i just skip" would run through my head, but the good student that i am never listened to that... unfortunately. but anyway i would role out of bed about 6:15, put in my contacts, brush my teeth, hop in the shower, hop out of the shower, dry, find some sort of matching-or matchingish clothing combination, put that on, do my hair, spray the cologne (for all you ladies out there), head downstairs, make my lunch (yes i do make my own lunch still at 17 years old), and finally head out the door. now thats just the normal version. most of the time half my clothes were in a basket somewhere downstairs or i would go on a safari to find a missing sweatshirt or something. anyway. i would try my best to leave by 7. now during the first part of the year i had to pick up Paul which was cool. he would always have some new band to show me every morning and take the DJ spot in the car. and sometimes that would bug me. i dont kno but theres just something about messing with a man's radio or stereo in his car... its like letting your girlfriend hold the remote. its just not suppose to happen. so we'd role into school at around 7:15 or 7:20ish in an attempt to get an alright parking spot, but after Paul wasnt riding i'd get there around 7:10 to get a GOOD spot. then i'd listen to my music for a while or study for some hard test while i was in my car, eventually getting out of it around 7:25. i would proceed to my locker. unload homework. load the first two classes binders and books, wait around and chat with Jason or someone until the bell rang, then off to the Distinguished Award Winning JROTC Unit for first period. this year i held the Aerospace Superintendent position so i kept busy there, also assuming the Flight Commander position for the first semester. so i found that two jobs is suicide. but it was fun. i made it all the way up to 2nd Lieutenant this year, so now all the little kids (and even some of my own friends) have to salute me when they pass by in uniform. but anyway that class had its ups and downs, and next year ill be thte 21st Operations Squadron Commander, second in command of the whole shabang. so ive got my work cut out for me. bell rings and off to period two on the other side of the school, generally passing by Jon Ring, Kristin Hood and Janice Pierce on the way there. now 2nd period was English AP with Mr. Benoit, and this was quite possibly my most favorite class i've ever had. everyone had become so close to eachother by the end of the year that when he assigned a monologue on the topic of your choice for the final, people spoke on some of their most intimate and personal things. i mean 1 out of every 4 people were crying during their presentation, and this was a true testament to how close knit the class had become. i learned a lot about writing and i hope that will reflect in my AP Test scores that should be coming out here pretty soon. well after that class i would head back to my locker, drop off the first two periods binders and pack in periods 3 and 4. now during the first semester i would be heading to Economics third period with Mr. Gonzales, and that was an interesting class, but we didnt get much done so it was really easy too. fun..ish class i guess. 2nd semester however was history with Mr. Caven. he's quite the character, and i got the chance of playing him in our Junior Spirit show and everyone said i nailed the part. i had all the stereotypes for him: The five thousand pens in his shirt pocket, the tie always flipped the wrong way, the gut you could set your beer can on (even while standing) and that he would constantly rest his clipboard on, and of course the water bottle he would drink out of with a strange way of lifting up his upper lip so the whole class could watch the water trickle into his mouth. yea it was gross. but that was a fun class. Myles, Lily, and Jason were in that one, and it was always a ball watching Myles and Lily go at it the whole time, pissing eachother off with new ways and creativity. after that class i would head to one of the hardest classes: Triginometry/Pre-Calculus. i'd walk with Jason there, get there and get myself prepared for the lesson. now the good thing about this class was we had one of the best freakin math teachers you could ever imagine-Mr. Vaiuso, or V for short. but he knew exactly how to pry into our minds and get us to understand it, hard as it was, and i passed that class with flying colors both semesters. it seemed like a long period, but perhaps the most productive of any of them. and after this was the much anticipated lunch time. i'd head to my locker, drop off the 3rd and 4th period books, and pick up the last periods books and binders. after that i'd find a place to eat, and then generally go walk around with Jason unless i had work to do in JROTC. when the bell rang first semester, i would head to Mr. Gonzales' history class which was much like his Econ class: fun..ish but unproductive. during the second semester, however, i would head to my most dreaded class of Chemistry with Ms. Shields. now Ms. Shields was ok at teaching this subject, but she lacked in certain areas which didnt help any as it was an honors class so the curriculum was even more advanced. my stress level would rise to like 90% within the first 20 min and go to like 120% by the end of the period in that class. dont ask me how, but i managed to pull of an A both semesters. after that class, i would walk halfway to Spanish with Arielle and we would talk about like the same thing every day: how she always tells me to call her, so i would, but she's always too busy with Kyle or something so she couldn't hang out. i think we hung out like twice the whole year outside of school. pretty pathetic. anyway Spanish was the next class. the ONLY class i got a B in the whole year, and that was only first semester. i scored an A second semester. but it was a hard class man. Mr. Salas was like FROM Mexico, so his second languange was English. you know you're screwed when you're Spanish teacher was not raised to speak English, but he was a cool guy and we had many talks about politics that i tended to agree with him on, and that definitely helped my grade out haha. he was a good guy, he just could use some work on his teaching style. its not very teacher oriented, its more book oriented. but i have a feeling im going to have him again next year so i better be ready to deal with it again. but after that class i was done! and that was such a great feeling to be done. especially when there wasnt something after school like Soccer or Instructor work at Golden West. cuz then i could just go home and chill. and a lot of times that meant nap time. i've been doing that a lot lately. now i feel old haha.

well there it is ladies & gentlemen. im sure you didnt want it THAT detailed but too bad. thats just the way these things are. and also it makes up for the lack of posting ive done lately. and i dont kno how often i'll be able to post this summer as it's pretty freakin jam packed. Lets see, im leaving on saturday to go to Boys State at Sac State University as i was chosen to represent my High School as the Delegate for that. then the day i get back from that im heading to Florida to chill with my cousins and extended family. then like two days after i get back from Florida, i head to New Mexico for JROTC Honors camp, representing the top 1% of cadets in the nation. and thats a trip completely paid for by the Air Force- airfare and everything. and when i get back from that Chris comes down for two weeks which is the event im pretty much looking forward to the most. so maybe ill have to do an "end of the summer" post or something. i dont kno. but it's like 3:30 in the morning right now so i should probly head to bed or something. later.... P.S. SENIORS CLASS OF '08 BABY!
